ClientHalesowen College of Further Education
Cost£1.3m

Halesowen College purchased a vacant commercial building to supplement its existing campus provision. The building is positioned close to Halesowen town centre and it is now used by the Hair and Beauty Department.

In addition to the conversion of office space into classrooms, a new stair and lift tower has been built to ensure that the building complies with the Disability Discrimination Act. The tower is intended to provide a strong visual statement of the college’s presence in the town. The stair enclosure is constructed using Kalwall, a translucent material that allows daylight into the building during the day time. At night the wall glows with artificial light from inside the building.
