This scheme is one of a number of regeneration projects that have happened in Bentley Centre. This scheme a block of sixty apartments for the over 55's and five family houses. The scheme sits on the northern edge of an open space overlooked by the Emmanuel Parish Church at the heart of Bentley, which is bound by a new library site to the east and an existing shopping precinct to the west.
Along with these other projects the proposals aim to reinvigorate the centre through contextual contemporary architecture and good urban design throughout. The three / four storey block of the apartments clad with green / blue coloured glass encloses what is perceived to be a new square as the hub of Bentley. The site is capped at either end on the Churchill Road frontage by two tower elements which denote gateways and points into the centre which reflect the towers of the proposals for the new library and the Emmanuel Parish Church.
