ClientRoof Top Housing Group
Cost£1.35m

Our client is proposing to provide 11 socially rented Gypsy and Traveller pitches for static caravans with studio accommodation for each plot on Green Belt Agricultural land owned by Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council.

Each plot will feature two 3.2m x 11m permanent pitches for two caravans, two parking spaces and 4.5m x 8m studio accommodation unit containing a living/bedsit, kitchen, bathroom, storage, and a utility room.

There is one plot of 5m x 8.5m studio accommodation that is fully DDA compliant. There will also be 8 parking spaces for large vehicles and Vans.

All studios have been designed in accordance with the Home and Community Agency planning policy for Traveller sites. The development is designed specifically for this site and promotes a sustainable solution that is up to date with both national and local planning policies.

The design team has made a conscious effort to include comments from the local authority and the community in the development of the design from a very early stage. This has involved formal pre-application meetings with Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council with comments received from the planning officer incorporated into the scheme.
