Cost£11.8m total build cost

BM3 has completed a range of projects for the college which totalling £11.8million in construction value. The projects have included a strategic masterplan for the Whittington Campus, a new refectory, teaching blocks, science laboratories, performing arts school, sports facilities, extensive refurbishment projects to several teaching blocks, all of which have required bespoke landscape design input. More recently BM3 were commissioned to create a new pedestrian entrance and reception block with full landscape design, and a new refectory extension at the heart of the campus.

BM3 designed a creative contemporary scheme that opened up the front of the campus providing two large social spaces where students can socialise whilst waiting for their coaches - the Primary and Secondary Plazas. These plazas have established a welcoming first impression to the Whittingham Road Entrance, while the newly designed entrance archways also attractively announce the presence of the college to passers-by on Whittingham Road.

New tree planting using primarily cultivars of native species with a few exotic additions will further contribute to a verdant and welcoming arrival and relaxation space for students. Among the carefully chosen tree varieties are Quercus robur ‘Fastigiata’ and Carpinus betulus ‘Frans Fontaine’, contributing to the rather formal design of the entrance plazas while still providing valuable habitat and foraging resources for wildlife.
