Goscote Lane, Walsall

ClientKeepmoat
Cost£45.1 million

This scheme is part of the Walsall Housing group’s development programme for 2014-2019. The development forms the third and final phase of the ambitious Goscote Lane Corridor regeneration programme, the largest building scheme of its kind in the borough. Once completed, the scheme will have delivered more than 800 new, energy-efficient homes to North Walsall.

BM3 Architecture is instructed to provide the third phase, the 407-total number of units built by Keepmoat Homes; 281 for private sale and 126 for social and affordable rent.

The mix for general needs reflects the housing demand for first time buyers and small and large families in the area and is achieved by providing an appropriate mix of one and two bedroom bungalows and two to four bedroom houses.

The house types comprise both wide and narrow frontage options in varying sizes and are evenly distributed throughout the site, adding variety to the streetscape. These various house types contribute to a sense of individual identity but also tie together successfully as a complete scheme.

Partners for the Goscote Lane Corridor regeneration programme include Walsall Council, the Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership (BCLEP) and Homes England.
